KC 62368-1 standard issued by Korea

The National Institute of technical standards of Korea issued an announcement on August 27, 2021, officially starting to implement kc62368-1 standard for it / AV products, which will take effect immediately from the date of promulgation.

Key points of standard implementation:

The current standards KC 60065, K 60950-1 are still applicable until December 31, 2022.

Before December 31, 2022 during the transition period, KC 60065, K 60950-1 and KC 62368-1 can be accepted to apply for KC certificate.

From January 1, 2023, only kc62368-1 standard application for KC certificate is accepted

Special note: Korea only accepts CB application for KC certificate of IEC 62368-1:2018 (3rd Edition) and does not accept IEC 62368-1:2014 (2nd Edition)

Impact on issued certificates:

KC safety certificate issued according to KC 60065, K 60950-1 standard does not need to be updated without product change

If there is a technical change in the certified product, you must apply for certificate renewal according to the following two situations:

1) Before January 1, 2023, the test can be added according to KC 60065, K 60950-1, or the test and standard can be updated according to kc62368-1

2) After January 1, 2023, only additional tests and / or standard updates according to KC 62368-1 are accepted

Key points of application for new standard certificate:

Korean KC license issuing agency has officially accepted the application of kc62368

Whether the original certificate number will be changed after the old standard certificate is upgraded to KC 62368-1 standard due to product change is still under discussion; It is suggested that manufacturers who need to upgrade the certificate standard should not easily print the certificate number in advance
