Saudi Arabia regulation Courier - SASO IECEE / IECEx / RoHS regulation update
1. The control scope of SASO IECEE RC (SIRC) is expanded again
SASO issued an announcement on June 30, 2020 that the implementation of the following six categories of products of SASO IECEE RC (SIRC), which was originally scheduled to be enforced on July 1, will be delayed until September 1, 2021.

SASO issued an official announcement on August 6. The following four categories of products of SASO IECEE RC were originally scheduled to be enforced on September 1, and the formal implementation was delayed from November 1, 2021.

2. SASO implements IECEx explosion proof certification
SASO issued an official announcement on August 6 that SASO IECEx (explosion proof) certification will be implemented for the following six categories of products, which will be enforced from November 1, 2021.

3. SASO officially issued RoHS regulations
Saudi Standards Agency SASO officially issued RoHS regulations on July 9, 2021 and is scheduled to be enforced from January 5, 2022.
The regulation applies to the following types of electrical and electronic equipment:
● Large household appliances
● Small household appliances
● Information technology and communication equipment
● lighting
● Electrical and electronic tools
● Toys, leisure and sports equipment
● Monitoring and control equipment
