Tec of India releases updated version of mtcte program

On May 15, 2021, TEC released an updated version of the mtcte program, namely, the mandatory testing and certification of telecommunications equipment (mtcte) program version 2.1, replacing the version 2.0 in 2018.


MTCTE program has important updates


Version 2.1 contains the following important updates:


● Updated the scope of controlled products

Revised requirements for documents required to submit applications

Tec fee announcement for certificate modification and renewal

ILAC test reports will continue to be accepted, except that some of the required parameters (ERs) must be tested locally in India

Validity of ILAC test report extended to 5 years

Enhanced mtcte market supervision measures

The date of shipment of telecommunication equipment from foreign ports shall be regarded as the date of import

Requirements of specification name plate

Update label guide, update Tec logo style


Now certified products must be marked with TEC mark and other detailed information, such as India, er number, model number, certificate number, certificate issuing date, certificate validity period, country of origin and country of manufacture.

MTCTE program update


In addition, in order to ensure that the new label changes will not affect the products already produced, the validity period of the old label guide can be extended to November 30, 2021. From December 1, 2021, the latest mtcte procedure version 2.1 must be followed.
