ENEC Certification

ENEC is the acronym of EUROPEAN NORMS ELECTRICAL CERTIFICATION, which means European Standard Electrical Certification.

The ENEC mark indicates compliance with relevant European standards, and the ENEC certificate can be issued by the official testing bodies of the CCA ?CENELEC (European Electrotechnical Commission) CERTIFICATION AGREEMENT member countries.

The ENEC mark implies safety because it is based not only on type tests completed by qualified certification bodies, but also on the continuous control of the manufacturer's production process. In addition, the use of the ENEC mark is monitored by manufacturers' and consumers' organizations and official test institutes in Europe.

ENEC certification scope

The ENEC mark (European Norms Electrical Certification) is a certification scheme of CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization) for lighting equipment and related components, electrical and electronic office and IT equipment, safety insulation and breakaway transformers, power supplies and switches for home appliances and other products.

The ENEC mark is a voluntary mark that can be used in place of individual marks in various European countries to certify that the product has been tested by a third party to confirm compliance with European standards (ENs) The ENECmark implies safety because it is based not only on type tests completed by qualified certification bodies, but also on continuous control of the manufacturer's production process. In addition, the use of the ENEC mark is monitored by European manufacturers' and consumers' organizations and official test institutes.

Description of the ENEC logo - The numbers appearing to the right of the ENEC logo identify the different member countries of CCA (note: different numbers represent different member countries/certification bodies, e.g. 10 for VDE). There are now 21 member countries and 23 certification bodies. The logo of the certification body can be added if the manufacturer wishes.

CE, abbreviated from the French "Communate Europpene", stands for European Community. The European Community was later transformed into the European Union (EU).

"CE" is a mandatory certification directive in the EU market and is considered as a passport for manufacturers to open and enter the European market. To circulate freely in the EU market, it is necessary to affix the "CE" mark to show that the product meets the basic requirements of the EU "New Approach to Technical Harmonization and Standardization" directive. This is a mandatory requirement for products under EU law. All products with the "CE" mark can be sold in each member state of the EU without having to meet the requirements of each member state, thus realizing the free circulation of goods within the EU member states. The significance of the CE marking is that the CE abbreviation is used as a symbol to indicate that the CE marked product conforms to the Essential Requirements of the relevant European Directive, and is used to confirm that the product has passed the corresponding conformity assessment procedures and/or the manufacturer's declaration of conformity, which truly becomes the passport for the product to be allowed to enter the European Community market. The relevant directives require the affixing of CE mark industrial products, without the CE mark, shall not be listed for sale, has been affixed with the CE mark to enter the market, found not to meet the safety requirements, be ordered to withdraw from the market, continued violation of the directives on CE marking provisions, will be restricted or prohibited from entering the EU market or forced to withdraw from the market.

Directives Directives
Directives are legal requirements for the use of certain categories of products, including basic health and safety requirements. These directives must be met before the CE mark can be posted, but manufacturers can choose how to assess them. Currently, the European Union has issued more than twenty CE directives (CE directive, such as: LVD, EMC, RED, MD, RoHS, etc.), and the CE mark is affixed to the product to provide technical documentation of the product. This is the only way to circulate in its market.

Harmonized Standards
The easiest way to demonstrate compliance with the Directive is through the European Harmonized Standards. If a particular product category complies with Harmonized Standards, it also means that it complies with the corresponding Directive specifications.

Declaration of Conformity Declaring conformity
Many directives allow manufacturers to self-declare. Some directives require manufacturers to submit their products to a third-party certification body for testing and certification, or to pass an audit of their quality system by a certification body.

The European Union (EU) covers 27 countries in the European region.
